Work step by step from material preparation and layout through hand cutting, dry fitting and careful fine tuning.

Meet Payam.

Designer, maker and teacher

Payam Alinasab is a furniture designer and maker with an engineering background and years of experience in architecture and construction. He founded Payam Alinasab Design in 2019, focusing on traditional joinery and timeless woodworking methods.

His work centres on sustainable, handcrafted pieces and the connection between natural materials, craftsmanship and the people who use them. As an instructor, he shares these long-standing techniques so others can create meaningful and lasting work of their own.

Workshop details.

Beginner to intermediate

Designed for participants who want focused practice with accurate hand-cut joinery.

Age 16+

A parent or guardian must sign the waiver on the first day for participants under 18.

Materials included

Practice wood, workshop consumables and the required materials are included.

Location

NewMakeIt, 621 Timothy Street, Newmarket, Ontario.

Come workshop ready

Wear closed-toe shoes and clothing with no loose fabric. Long hair must be secured in a bun. Bring safety glasses and hearing protection if you have them. NewMakeIt provides safety glasses, earplugs and other required safety equipment for anyone who needs them.
