Fixer in Residence helps York Region residents learn practical troubleshooting, maintenance and repair skills with guidance from experienced fixers. The focus is on learning how to approach the problem, not simply having an item repaired for you.

Fixer in Residence is delivered by NewMakeIt in partnership with The Regional Municipality of York.

  • Learn repair skills, not just repairs. This workshop focuses on teaching you how to assess and repair items yourself.
  • Repairs are not guaranteed. Some items may require additional time, parts, tools, or expertise.
  • Build confidence. Leave with practical skills you can apply to future repairs.
