Founded in 2016, NewMakeIt brings physical space, professional tools, technology and hands-on learning together under one roof. We welcome curious beginners, experienced makers, creative professionals and entrepreneurs from Newmarket, York Region and beyond.
FOR ENTREPRENEURS
START WITH AN IDEA, NOT A HUGE INVESTMENT.
Starting a product-based business usually requires workspace, equipment and training before the first sale. NewMakeIt lowers that barrier.
Entrepreneurs can learn professional tools, develop prototypes, produce small batches and test an idea without first taking on the cost of a private studio or buying and maintaining their own equipment.
Some arrive with a business already in motion. Others begin with one workshop, discover a skill they love and turn what they make into a product, a side business or something bigger.

SELF-FUNDED. SUPPORTED AS WE GROW.
NewMakeIt is a self-funded not-for-profit. Our day-to-day operations are sustained through the workshops, access passes, studio use and services we provide. We are grateful to our community and to every level of government for grants and project support that help us expand programs, reach more people and create new opportunities. This support helps us grow, it does not replace the revenue we earn.
