Laser Cutter Certification Workshop

Learn how to safely operate the laser cutters to cut and engrave materials such as wood, acrylic, cloth, and leather. This certification workshop is required for members who want to independently use the laser machines at NewMakeIt.

During this hands-on workshop, you’ll learn how to operate the Trotec Speedy 50, Trotec Speedy 400, and Epilog Helix laser cutters.

What You’ll Learn

• Functions and capabilities of laser cutters
• Approved materials for laser cutting and engraving
• Understanding raster vs. vector files
• Setting up the laser for your project
• Basic machine maintenance and upkeep
• Creating your first laser-cut project

Laser Access After Certification

After completing the certification:

• Members with any Access Pass can use the Trotec Speedy 50 and Epilog Helix laser cutters.
• The Trotec Speedy 400 is available to Professional Access Pass holders, or members may use it by paying an additional usage fee.

Non-Members: $125 + tax

Requirements

Attendees must bring their own Windows laptop with CorelDRAW installed. A free 15-day trial of CorelDRAW is available on the Corel website.
