Your finished project
A personalized round silver pendant
Create a circular sterling-silver pendant with a hand-fabricated design inside, then refine and polish it for a clean professional finish.
Level up your fabrication control.
This project builds on existing soldering experience and introduces more delicate assembly work.
Fabricate small components
Use pliers and mandrels to create the delicate silver shapes that form your design.
Develop the interior layout
Arrange the components within the round frame while balancing spacing, strength and visual flow.
Work in multiple stages
Use silver solder with three melting points to join the pendant without disturbing earlier connections.
Refine and polish
Clean the joins, adjust the final shape and polish the pendant to a wearable finish.

Guidance for more advanced soldering
Jim Travers helps participants plan an achievable design, sequence the soldering steps and solve the alignment challenges that come with smaller silver components.

Designed for participants ready to move beyond introductory jewellery fabrication.
Prerequisite required
Complete a Level 1 jewellery workshop or have experience with hard soldering or brazing.
Maximum six participants
The small class supports detailed help with design and solder sequencing.

Bring design references or inspiration you may want to incorporate into the pendant.
Level 2 prerequisite
This is not a first-time soldering workshop. Participants must have completed a Level 1 jewellery workshop or have equivalent experience with hard soldering or brazing.
