Campers work through practical projects that develop tool confidence, accuracy and problem-solving skills.
Instructor-led builds
Projects that grow with the group
Projects may include trays, small furniture and other functional builds. Paul can adjust the exact projects to suit the campers, available materials and skill levels.
A week of real woodworking.
Teens learn by making, with demonstrations, supervised practice and support throughout each project.
Tool and shop confidence
Learn safe habits for handling tools, materials and active work areas in the woodshop.
Measure and design
Think through a build, measure carefully and make creative decisions before cutting material.
Cut, fit and assemble
Develop practical skills while turning individual wooden parts into a functional project.
Create and collaborate
Problem solve independently, work alongside other campers and take pride in completed work.

Support at every stage.
Guided, practical and creative
Paul demonstrates the skills needed for each build and provides individual support as campers work through measurements, tool use, assembly and finishing.
Campers can develop at their own pace while learning how to solve problems, work safely and turn their ideas into something real.

Projects and support can be adjusted for beginners and teens with previous experience.
Ages 12 to 18
A parent or guardian must sign the waiver on the first day for campers under 18.
Pack lunch daily
Each camper needs a packed lunch for every camp day.
Bring a water bottle
Bring a labelled refillable water bottle each day.
Small camp group
Maximum eight campers allows time for guidance and supervised practice.

Come camp ready
Wear closed-toe shoes and clothing with no loose fabric. Long hair must be secured in a bun. Bring safety glasses and hearing protection if you have them. NewMakeIt provides safety glasses, earplugs and other required safety equipment for anyone who needs them.
