Each session builds on the last, giving you time to practise core wheel throwing techniques and gain more control over your forms.
Start at the wheel
Get comfortable with the wheel while learning to centre clay, open the form and pull even walls for cups and bowls.
Trim and refine
Learn to trim leather hard pieces, refine the bases and improve the balance and finish of your pottery.
Explore taller forms
Build on your foundations by working toward taller vessels, vases, pitchers and other more advanced forms.
Add finishing details
Personalize your pottery with handles, textures, surface decoration and other thoughtful finishing details.
Glaze your work
Experiment with glazing techniques and complete your pieces before their final firing.

Your starting point
Beginner Level 1
No previous wheel throwing experience is needed. Jenny introduces the wheel, studio procedures and foundational techniques step by step.
This workshop also suits anyone who has tried the wheel before and wants more guided time to improve consistency and control.
What is included
Six weeks of guided instruction, use of pottery wheels and studio tools, glazing instruction and the firing of your workshop pieces.

Come workshop ready
Wear closed toe shoes and comfortable clothing that can get messy. Long hair must be tied back. Shorter nails make centring and shaping clay easier.
