Time: 6:00 to 9:00 pm
Instructors: Anna Vander Heide
In this introductory 3-hour workshop, you will start from scratch with watercolor and will learn how to use props or photographs for reference and inspiration to plan, sketch, paint and complete two projects from start to finish.
In the first half of the workshop, you will warm up using exercises that will help you become comfortable with the different techniques/effects and how to use watercolor. You will learn basic watercolor skills such as paint application, mixing, blending, value, layering and basic color theory to aid in color design. This will transition into a small practice project that will utilize these basic watercolor techniques/skills and color principles that will make your visions real.
In the second half of the workshop, you will then move into a larger project to finish while learning the different applications, aesthetics and possibilities that can be achieved with the medium.
This is the perfect workshop for beginners, no prior experience or artistic skill is necessary. Intro to Drawing or some drawing knowledge is highly recommended (but not required) to enhance the experience gained in this workshop. If you already have some experience or are able to create simple drawings/paintings, join us, and take your skill, knowledge and artwork to the next level!
All supplies will be provided! Just bring yourself and surprise yourself with what you can create!
