Time: 6:00 to 9:00 pm
Cost: $60
Instructors: Anna Vander Heide
Description:

In this introductory 3-hour workshop, you will start from scratch with two different color drawing mediums, pencil crayon and dry pastel. You will learn how to use props or photographs for reference and inspiration to plan, construct, sketch, draw and complete two projects from start to finish.

In the first half of the workshop, you will warm up using exercises that will help you become comfortable with the different techniques/effects and how to use the mediums. You will learn basic skills such as blending/smudging, layering, value, texture as well as basic color theory to aid in mixing/combining. This will transition into a small practice project that will utilize these basic techniques/skills and color principles that will make your visions real.

In the second half of the workshop, you will then move into a larger project to finish while learning the different expressive applications, aesthetics and possibilities that can be achieved with the medium.

This is the perfect workshop for beginners, no prior experience or artistic skill necessary. Intro to Drawing or some drawing knowledge is recommended (but not required) to enhance the experience gained in this workshop. If you already have some experience or are able to create simple drawings, join us, and take your skill, knowledge and artwork to the next level!

All supplies will be provided! Just bring yourself and surprise yourself with what you can create!
