Join renowned artist Linda Szoldatits in this 6-week workshop to hone your pottery skills or take your pottery experience to the next level by introducing a fusion of wheel and hand-building projects. Learn how you can turn a simple object thrown on the wheel into a one of kind object that expresses your artistry and love of clay.
10 KG of clay, glazes and material costs and tools are including in this course creating amazing value for you.
Intermediate Hand building is an exploration into the process of an idea using clay as the medium with a focus on textures, image applications, carving, lidded vessels & the freedoms of glazes to create & bring your idea to fruition. A variety of found objects as well as pottery tools are used to provide different carving textures and finishes. It’s all in the details...
My earliest recollection of creating was while growing up on the family vegetable farm. After a rainy morn, my father would gather buckets of mud and carry them over to the large field wagon for me. I would spend hours making mud pies of all shapes and sizes, waiting for the sun to break through baking each piece with its warmth.
Very little has changed for me, I still play with the earth for hours on end. Sgraffito, silk-screening, sculpture, and painting my hand-built & thrown pieces allows me to lose myself to find myself.
